Illustrations

While I was in Japan I had some of my drawings published, and I also started to do the odd illustration for magazines and newspapers. When I came back to the UK in 1985, illustration seemed the most likely way of earning a crust now that I had a young family to support.

The illustrations here were done largely for Chivers Press Publishers in Bath, and in the course of the next eight years I produced over a thousand book jackets for them. I worked in lots of different styles and played around with everything from watercolour to oil pastels and collage. Although I worked on westerns, thrillers and romances, it was always the books for children that I enjoyed most.
