Portraits
The portrait on the left is due to be on show at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition, which runs from April 29th to May the 16th. I am still working on the one of the great Liverpool comedian Ken Dodd, shown in the dressing room of the nearby Memorial Theatre, Frome.
The figure
I have started to work with two figures on the same canvas; one male, one female. It’s an exciting development, and they are like characters in a play or novel. I can move them around as I please and play with contrasts in scale as well. It will be interesting to see how their relationship develops.
